Endangered Mythical Beast Awareness Day - "E"

Mythical beast often get overlooked by "traditional" activists despite the fact that they are also on the Endangered list - "E"

To remedy this egregious oversight, I am featuring some overlooked beasts that I've come across on your blogs and in your blogfest entries.

  • The Forest Dragon. - In this video we see the mighty creature besting a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the age old struggle for survival. Or consider the sleek Marine Dragon as seen here, with its tiny wings that resemble a dorsal fin. Quite a striking creature.
  • Unicorn - the fierce and ruthless beast seen here is apparently nothing like I've been told. Rainbows do not, in fact, emanate from their horn as children have been duped into believing. Warrior steeds, these ferocious creatures were worth their weight in Goblin gold. Not to be confused with the Pegasus, which, as we all know, is completely fake.
  • Chimera - Head of a lion, body of a goat, tail of a serpent; this creature breathes fire when startled or angry. Many have been run off their hunting grounds by the more aggressive and populous urban squirrel.

  • Sirens or Mermaids - Those misunderstood gals of the sea. Their numbers are dwindling due to the sailor education classes and frequent cruise liner propeller mishaps.
We're all aware of the social injustices and unfair hunting laws suffered by the Vampire and Werewolf population, but I hope that you keep in mind that there are other mythical beasts that need your attention.
